We are delighted to announce that we successfully held our WG2 Workshop on “The Nexus Between Illicit Trade and Geopolitical Shifts: Unpacking Political, Social, Economic, and Legal Implications” on March 14-15, 2025, as part of our GLITSS X GIPA International Conference.
Over the course of two days, our team, along with experts, researchers, and practitioners from various countries, engaged in in-depth discussions on how illicit trade is influenced by and contributes to global geopolitical shifts. Together, we explored the political, economic, and legal dimensions of this complex issue, addressing its impact on international security, governance, and economic stability.
A special thank you to Prof. Dr. Tina (Tiko) Tsomaia and Prof. Dr. Daniela Irrera for the organization and their invaluable insights, as well as to all participants from around the world for their active engagement and thought-provoking contributions. Our conversations and collaborations have laid the foundation for further research and policy discussions.
